The
walkonzone is a website dedicated to Paintball but we do get visitors
from other classes as well.
There is no reason other classes cannot come to these forums and
join in with the conversations so please keep that in mind.
Like any community the walkonzone has certain standards. When members
join our forums they agree to abide by the rules.
To remain a part of the walkonzone community, members must be considerate
to others.
Repeated violations of these standards will result in a member being
barred from entry or participation in all forums.
We recommend you familiarize yourself with all of the rules bellow.
General
rules:
Avoid personal attacks. If you don't agree with what someone
posted, debate their post... not the person that posted it.
Keep the profanity to a minimum. Keep in mind that this website
and it's forums are visited by people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.
Many of which do not appreciate vulgar language. So, the less there
is, the better the forums are for everyone.
Try
your hardest to post in the appropriate forum. Don't be upset if
we move your post to a more appropriate forum. If we happen to move
a post, don't publicly throw a tantrum concerning it.
Please put at least a little effort into grammar and spelling.
Regarding grammar and spelling: put some effort into it. Don't post
a dozen '!!!?1!!?!?' together, don't use huge all caps text, don't
go 'u r teh b1ZEsT' when you can type 'you are the best', and make
some sort of effort to spell things at least semi-correctly. Use
the spell check if you need to.
Adult
content:
Pornography will not be allowed in any way, shape, or form. Anyone
found posting adult content will have their account removed for
the board and there IP will be reported to the relevant authorities.
Pirate
and warez links:
This community forum is a place for ideas and constructive participation,
and not a place to violate any laws or to discuss illegal activities.
Do not support bootlegs, warez, software piracy or unauthorized
emulators of software or hardware, sharing or distributing viruses,
licenses, registration information, software keys, "cracks,"
or other information designed to do harm to or allow unlawful access
to any computer hardware, software, networks.
No advertisements:
Do not 'advertise'. No links in your posts period. Traders of any kind are prohibited to sell or promote their products within all the forum pages including the classified areas.
Please contact administrators for advertising options. Also, any links that you receive compensation of any sort ('referrer' links, etc.) are expressly forbidden. Abuse of these rules will lead to a ban on your account.
Signature
rules:
I'll be the first to admit that I love the imagination and creativity
put behind some of the signatures at the bottom of some of the posts.
However, some people don't realize that there are still some people
out there on dialup modems. Huge signatures can dramatically increase
the time it takes for some to load the pages:
Your complete
signature file should not exceed 30kb in size.
Keep the physical size of your signature to a decent size. Common banner-ad
sizing (468x60 pixels) is a good example of an appropriate physical
size.
Only post your custom signature once per thread. If you are posting
a second time in a thread, uncheck the "Include custom signature"
box before clicking on the 'Post' button.
We do allow the
referencing of sponsors within your signatures. However you must be
a sponsored team at that time and we do ask that you keep the linking
and referencing to external companies to a minimum. We will not accept
multiple referencing to the company’s that sponsor your team.
If people do not respect this the option to display there sponsors,
it will be removed.
Attachments:
Do not post overly-large images.
Don't post images that are super-huge. Don't just load a huge image
into a small space. Also, provide links to images, rather than images
themselves, if they are big enough to break table boundaries or
require scrolling.
Chat
room rules:
Behave in the #woz chat room.
The rules for the chat are the same as the rules for the board,
with one exception - penalties are much more quickly applied. Be
nice - getting booted from the chat by a mod means you will probably
be banned from the boards as well. There are a great many trusted
forum goers here, and if enough of them report you, you’ll
hear from us. We have our own dedicated server for the chat room
and also another dedicated server for the forum stat's. All activity
is logged to file so we can keep a permanent record of the content.
Lastly
– the rules are here for a reason:
1. The only reason all these rules are here are to keep those people
who wilfully 'push the limits' of the rules from pushing them further
and further. Don't ever be afraid that you will 'slip up' and get
kicked out - a ban will only be used on people that wilfully break
and flaunt rules in the face of the Moderators and Administrators.
2.
If you think something might be bad to post, ask first. That isn’t
too hard to do.
3.
The moderators have final say in everything. Free speech is a wonderful
thing - but as the forum is, in effect, 'private property', what
they say goes.
